After talking about it for way too long, and then last year’s non-fun summer put off plans yet again, we made things happen – Taylor, Jeff’s son, was able to come stay with us!
It was so delightful not to have to worry about fitting ev-ery-thing into a short two day window. We finally got to do what we’d been trying to make happen for years – we had a full week together!
There was a round of mini golf played – Jeff won, BUT Taylor totally called his hole-in-one on the last hole, which I missed due to taking pictures instead of video haha.
Disney was on the plan for two days and while we didn’t spend full days at the park, I am so thankfully that we have that as an option because holy moly was it packed and incredibly f’n hot.
We spent one day split between Animal Kingdom and our house, with a brief trip to EPCOT for Test Track and Japanese goodies. We did a total of three [yes, 3] attractions that day – Expedition Everest, Test Track, and Pandora Na’vi River Journey.
Day two at Disney was all about Hollywood Studios. Shockingly enough, we actually completed FOUR attractions – Rock N Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Slinky Dog Dash!
One of the best parts of this whole thing was Taylor turning 16 [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] while he was with us, which gave us a good reason for Jeff to build Taylor a computer for gaming and his new found love of photo and video editing.
During our day at Hollywood Studios, we each put together a short video. The best part? This was Taylor’s first time ever touching an editing project like this.
Beyond all of that, Taylor was able to meet our friends and enjoy a game night like we usually do, plus he wanted to meet my parents.
New foods were tried – Dole Whip [seen above] and the deliciousness known as Jiko was consumed!
The boys did go kart race one day. And then we jumped into Ralph Breaks The Internet via virtual reality, and whoa was that fun!
Overall it was a great trip and we can’t wait for him to come down again!
