Giving Chiker daily treats became fun for both of us when he started learning tricks. When he’s sitting in his treat spot and I want it to take him a bit longer to enjoy them, the snuffle mat comes out!
I hide four to six throughout the mat and he digs his nose in as if he’s a bee searching for pollen.
[In this case, his pollen is crunchy and chicken flavored.]
When he’s on the hunt, I can break out my book and read. Between getting books delivered from the library – yes, this is something they do – and using apps to get books on my Kindle, I’ve been going through books like whoa. I set a goal of twenty for the year and I read six this month!
One of my favorite ways to read is with an audiobook. Listening along [2x speed usually] while reading the text – physical or electronic – helps keep me focused on the book as a whole.
Getting a deck of tarot cards had been on my mind for a while, so finding a Cat Tarot deck was perfect.
[You thought it would say purr-fect, right?]
For me, coming up with questions is the hardest part. Reading and getting a feel for the cards is the best.
I clearly have very basic knowledge, but I enjoy them and was blown away by the fact that I somehow managed to pull the same card multiple times in the same day…and yes, the deck was shuffled.
